Summer Is Fading: Is It Time to Wake Up Your Side Hustle?
Summer is fading — whether you like it or not.
The evenings will soon start drawing in, holidays will become memories, and before we know it, we’ll be heading towards autumn and the run-up to Christmas.
Or, to borrow a rather famous phrase:
Winter is coming!
For anyone building a side hustle or trying to earn extra money online, this is actually a very useful time of year.
Summer can be difficult for staying focused.
There are holidays, family commitments, days out, gardens that need attention and, if we’re lucky in the UK, the occasional spell of sunshine that we’d much rather enjoy than spend sitting in front of a computer!
So if your online business has gone a little sleepy over the summer, you’re probably not alone.
But now might be a good time to wake it up.
What Happened to Your Side Hustle This Summer?
Before rushing into autumn with a huge new list of things to do, take a few minutes to look backwards.
What actually happened over the summer months?
- Did you make the progress you’d hoped for?
- Did you keep doing a little every day or every week?
- Did your side hustle quietly slip further and further down your priority list?
- Or perhaps you kept telling yourself you’d get back to it “next week” — and somehow next week never arrived?
There’s no point beating yourself up if you didn’t achieve everything you intended.
But there is a point in being honest about it.
If nothing changes in what you do, it’s unlikely that much will change in the results you get.
And the approaching autumn gives us a natural opportunity to reset.
Why Autumn Matters
The final few months of the year can be particularly interesting for those of us working online.
- As Christmas approaches, extra expenses start appearing.
- Then, not far behind Christmas, comes January – traditionally the time for new plans, new goals and resolutions.
- That means more people start thinking about their finances, their future and whether there might be ways to bring in some extra money.
- Some will start looking for a side hustle.
- Others will investigate working from home or starting something online.
Of course, none of that guarantees that we will make money.
But it does mean that sitting back and doing nothing probably isn’t the best strategy!
This year I’m going into autumn prepared.
Something Is Happening Inside ClickBank Profit Club
The timing is particularly interesting because there’s a new Challenge coming inside ClickBank Profit Club.
The idea behind it is something I strongly agree with:
Taking action.
It’s very easy to join programs, watch training, download information and tell ourselves we’re “working on our business.”
But eventually we have to actually do something with what we’ve learned.
That’s why I’m fully on board with the Challenge.

Give Yourself Some Weekend Homework
I’m not suggesting you sacrifice your entire weekend to your side hustle.
In fact, that would rather defeat the object of a side hustle!
But why not set aside a little time?

And then, perhaps with a cup of tea or coffee, spend another ten minutes thinking about the last few months.
Ask yourself:
What worked?
What didn’t?
What did I intend to do but never quite get round to?
And most importantly:
What am I going to do differently this autumn?
You don’t need to emerge with a complicated 27-point business plan.
Perhaps you just need to decide on one thing you’re going to start doing consistently.
Don’t Sleep Through the Opportunity
One lesson I’ve learned over the years is that information alone doesn’t produce results.
You can have access to the same training, tools and opportunities as somebody else and get completely different results.
The difference is often what each person actually does with them.
That’s why I’m encouraging you not merely to read about the new Challenge and think, “That sounds interesting.”
Go and investigate it.
Watch the Profit Clinic.
Decide whether it’s relevant to you.
And if it is, be ready to participate.
Because I don’t want to reach January, look back at the autumn and realise that another few months have disappeared while I was still thinking about what I might do “one day.”
Perhaps you don’t either.
Summer is fading, whether we like it or not.
Winter is coming.
But before it does, we’ve got autumn.
And autumn could be just the fresh start your side hustle needs.
