Did you consider your strategy for YouTube creators? No, I didn’t either!
Here’s why I should have done so – because users are using YouTube as their search engine.
Below, what I have been doing about it.
YouTube Ad Revenue Bulks Up 10.3% to $8.9 Billion
YouTube continues to rake in money from advertisers worldwide, with the video giant’s ad revenue reaching $8.93 billion in the first quarter of 2025, up 10.3% year over year — a solid double-digit bump off an already large haul.

For YouTube content creators, this news means more opportunities to monetize your content. Here’s why:
- More Ad Revenue: With YouTube’s ad sales reaching $8.9 billion in Q1 2025, the platform is thriving, which could lead to more competition for ad space. This could either push ad prices up (great for creators) or result in a greater push for higher engagement and more targeted content.
- Increased Subscriptions = More Viewers: With more than 270 million paid subscriptions overall (including YouTube Premium and Music), more people are consuming content without ads, meaning there’s a bigger base of people potentially willing to pay for premium experiences. Creators with exclusive content or those leveraging YouTube Premium can see higher payouts as subscribers grow.
- More Ways to Make Money: YouTube’s expansion into cheaper subscription options (like YouTube Premium Lite) and growing paid subscription numbers means there are more potential viewers willing to pay for ad-free, exclusive, or high-quality content. If you can tap into these subscription models, your revenue could skyrocket.
- Bigger Media Player: As YouTube’s revenue grows, it positions itself to overtake traditional media companies (like Disney). This means even more brand partnerships, sponsorships, and potential cross-platform opportunities for creators. Companies looking to market on a platform with massive reach could look to YouTube creators for collaboration.
In short, more money flowing into YouTube’s ecosystem means more opportunities for creators—whether through ads, subscriptions, or brand deals. It’s a prime time to keep growing your channel, diversify your content, and capitalize on the expanding YouTube economy.
YouTube Ad Revenue Soars — Creators, Take Note
YouTube pulled in a massive $8.93 billion in ad revenue in Q1 2025, a 10.3% year-over-year jump that signals more than just strong growth — it’s a clear green light for creators ready to monetize smarter and scale faster.
With ad dollars pouring in, rising subscription numbers, and new monetization tools rolling out, creators now have more ways to earn than ever before — from premium content and memberships to brand sponsorships and product shelves. If you’re building on YouTube, now’s the moment to double down.

My Belated Strategy For YouTube
Well, to be honest, I’ve been so late getting onto YouTube that I have taken a ‘done-for-you’ strategy.
Mainly because I didn’t want to appear on camera, and didn’t realise there were other options, but also because I have other business strategies that are working for me and that I enjoy more. However, I realise that these days you have to be available on the main social media channels, and one of the biggest now is YouTube. NOT just my opinion – see the opening stats.
So to get myself up-to-speed I’m using a combination (largely) of:
1) These guys creating my videos (TikTok and YouTube)
2) Using this service for my channel, which has grown in a relatively short period of time to this.
Now, if that seems pathetic to you, I had practically nothing about 6 months ago. Until I started using a combination of these two services.
(Updated on June 15th.)
Had I been actually working on it (i.e. actively learning and spending time creating videos myself) I could probably have done better, but it’s all been hands off for me.
You can sign up free at ViqIQ and they’ll monitor your site for you.
Or choose between hands-on and hands-off here. (Please tell you the guys Joy Healey sent you, and they’ll have a no obligation chat to see which of their services is best for you.)
